Rationale

Working in Confined Spaces could expose the workers to the hazardous environment that could lead to serious accidents including fatality. Industry Code of Practice working in Confined Space, JKKP: COP (I/BM) 2010 has details out the requirements (Safe System of Work) to ensure that activities conducted in a safe manner to by complying to Standard Operating Procedure

Objectives

At the end of the program participants will be able to describe:
• State legal requirements pertaining to confined space
• Identify hazards in the confined space
• State the duties / responsibilities of Authorised Entrant & Standby Person
• Use suitable personal protective equipment and other related equipment
• Demonstrate confined space entry procedure
• Qualified as competent Authorised Entrant and Standby Person

• Module 1 - Legal Requirements
• Module 2 - Hazards in Confined Space
• Module 3 - Entry Procedure & Equipment

Entry Requirement(s)

• Able to read, write and communicate verbally in Malay/English

Methodology

The delivery has a balance of lectures, workshops & video presentation and practical to assist participants to interpret the OSH requirements in practical situations, together with the questions & answer sessions
