Target

Participant who holds valid Basic Scaffolding of Competency and with working experience as a scaffolder on site.

Rationale

A competent person is a necessity on every job site and is some one who has sufficient experience and/or knowledge to recognize scaffold hazards, correct unsafe conditions, and who has the ability to shut down the worksite until any hazards are corrected. The competent person should be the most knowledgeable person, in this case about scaffold safety, on site

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, trainees will have a working knowledge on safe methods of erecting, dismantling and calculation used on intermediate scaffolds.

• Module 1 - Legislation for OSHA & FMA (History of legislation)
• Module 2 - Working at Height
• Module 3 - Scaffolding Safety
• Module 4 - General topic for Tools & Equipment
• Module 5 - Handling and Lifting
• Module 6 - Gin Wheel
• Module 7 - Rope and Knot - Theory only and practical session during outdoor activity
• Module 8 - History of Scaffold
